Announcements

  • WARM WEATHER UPDATES

    Niagara Wheatfield Families,

The most recent forecast has temperatures in the 90’s for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Those sustained high temperatures, along with low temperatures in the 70’s, will make it difficult for our rooms to cool overnight.

Therefore, we will be moving to half-days for our elementary and middle school students on Tuesday, June 18th and Thursday, June 20th.  As a reminder, there is no school on Wednesday, June 19th for the observance of Juneteenth.

Students will be dismissed at the following times on both Tuesday and Thursday:

    • ETMS - 10:30 am

    • Elementary Buildings - 11:30 am

Our high school students are participating in Regents/Local Exams and those exams have been scheduled in the air conditioned portions of the building.  Therefore, all high school students should still report for their scheduled exams.

Additional information will be provided by the buildings related to any activities impacted by the half day schedule.

All staff will report for their regularly scheduled work day.

    Thank you,

    NWCSD

  • Governor's Executive Budget

    Dear Niagara Wheatfield Families,

The NYS Budget Process is under way and unfortunately, the Governor's Executive Budget does not provide the funding necessary to keep our programs intact.  Fortunately, the budget process is far from over and our local NYS Representatives have pledged their support in the push for providing additional funding to education in NYS.  The link below is a recorded message, which provides some background on Governor Hochul's Foundation Aid proposal and the soon to expire Federal Stimulus funds.  In the coming weeks, we may be asking for your support in a letter writing campaign to the Governor.
