A Message from the Superintendent...

Dear Niagara Wheatfield Families,

The start of every school year is an exciting and hectic time for students, family and staff.  It also presents a wonderful opportunity to increase your involvement in our school community.  Whether a student or family member, there are so many options to consider, and getting involved helps create a sense of belonging, which can be important for a student to feel a deeper connection to her/his school.

Students at all levels can choose to participate in numerous co-curricular activities.  At the elementary level we have intramural opportunities throughout the year and numerous evening events geared toward bringing students and families together for positive social interaction.  At the middle school and high school levels there are numerous clubs and athletic options available to our students.  Please take the time to review all that is available with your children, and please contact your child’s school if you need assistance weighing the many options.

We owe a great deal of gratitude to our parent groups and booster club leaders who help to organize many events throughout the year.  These volunteer organizations are always looking for additional help.  Please reference our calendar for the exciting and engaging events happening in our schools.

The Comprehensive District Educational Planning Committee remain focused on the District’s community engagement goal.  The Eco-Campus Revitalization Project has targeted the Greenway walking path around the secondary campus and set the next planting and cleanup day for Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 am.  Also, parents of elementary students should keep an eye out for the date of the second annual District-wide Elementary Movie Night, which will take place in the spring of 2020.  Please consider joining us for these upcoming events.

It is my hope that you have an outstanding start to the 2019-2020 school year and are able to participate in some of the exciting co-curricular activities!
