Message from Superintendent

Niagara Wheatfield Families:

I hope this communication finds you and your family well.  In essence, last week marked the second phase of our reopening plan.  The students in our Regular Elementary Program are now attending in-person every day, and the students in our Regular Secondary Program are now attending in-person every other day.  It is great to see more students back in our schools.

As the year progresses we will undoubtedly have COVID-19 cases in our schools.  When this happens we will work closely with the Niagara County Department of Health as they perform the necessary contact tracing.  Please continue to reinforce our District’s face covering requirement, as it is crucial to minimizing the spread of the virus.

Keeping students, staff, and families safe is our top priority, and we need to maintain a community-wide commitment to masks and social distancing.  Our goal is to keep our buildings open, but we will need the infection rates in our schools and region to remain low for us to achieve this goal.

It has been a very positive start to the school year, and we are still improving on many processes and practices that are new for all of us.  Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we navigate this together.

Sincerely,

Daniel G. Ljiljanich

Superintendent
