My name is Michelle Weimer and I am a Special Education/English Teacher/ Reading Specialist here at NWSH. In the fall, I will be starting my 21th year of teaching with it being my 20th year here at Niagara Wheatfield High School. Throughout my teaching career I have taught English, Algebra I, History, Physical Science, and currently I am teaching English 11 and Resource Room.
Resource Room: Students who receive resource room service are enrolled in general education academic classes and meet the same content and performance standards as their peers. These students receive supportive instruction from the special education teacher one period per day. Teachers work individually or in small groups to develop and strengthen skills in specific areas identified in the IEP of each student. Skill areas may include but are not limited to, reading, writing, mathematics, study skills, note taking, and organization. Students participating in this program are working toward a local high school or Regents diploma.
