Good Afternoon Niagara Wheatfield Families,
This past October, we communicated about the creation of six “District-Wide Asynchronous Days.” These days are being utilized for our teaching staff to connect with families, take part in professional development related to technology and instruction, and consult with peers on best practices. On these days, students access learning materials either online, or with teacher-provided materials.
Two of these days happened to coincide with the change between 10-20 weeks and 20-30 weeks. Consequently, they provided an additional benefit: ensuring a smooth transition for students whose families requested a change in their program enrollment - either from Virtual Program to Regular Program, or vice versa.
Therefore, to provide an opportunity for a smooth transition for students who are switching programs at the 30-week mark, we are moving the asynchronous day originally scheduled for Monday, May 3, 2021 to Monday, April 19, 2021.
On Monday, April 19, students will access learning materials either online, or with teacher-provided materials - as they have on the other asynchronous days.
On Monday, May 3, elementary Regular Program students will come to school. Secondary Regular Program students will treat it as a RED day. (If they normally come to school on a RED day, they should come to school on Monday, May 3. All other secondary RED/BLACK days will remain as scheduled.)
Thank you again for your support as we navigate the instructional programming and scheduling that supports student learning during these unique times.
