• Update on Food Service and District Operations 3-20-20

On Friday, March 20, 2020, Governor Cuomo announced that only essential staff report to work.

    • We are considering our grab and go food service an essential function.  However, beginning Monday, March 23 we will only provide grab and go food at the locations, days, and times listed below:
      • High School - Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
      • Tuscarora Elementary School - Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

We will continue to provide grab and go food service until directed otherwise.

    • The District is awaiting clarification as to whether or not continuity of instruction is considered an essential service at this time, and if so, what parameters we need to follow.  We will communicate additional information regarding this topic once more is known.
    • The District will no longer have clerical staff present to answer telephone calls.  We will notify families when this changes.
    • Kindergarten registration will be extended once normal operations are resumed.

Please continue to take the direction of our federal, state and local health officials during these difficult times.

    Food Service Update - 3-19-20

    Niagara Wheatfield Families,

Our District is dedicated to continue providing food service for as long as allowed.  However, we are also committed to further cutting back on the number of staff members necessary to perform this service.

Therefore, beginning Friday, March 20 all grab and go food service pickup will take place at the following locations only:

Edward Town Middle School (for Errick Road and Edward Town Middle School students)

High School (for Colonial Village, West Street, and High School students)

Tuscarora Elementary School (for Tuscarora Elementary School students)

    Wishing you well,

     To: Niagara Wheatfield Families
    Re: Food Service for Students
    From: NWCSD

The Niagara Wheatfield Central School District is committed to providing ALL students with meals unless we are advised otherwise.  Below is our current plan for providing meals to our students.

We will have a grab and go meal assembled for each and every student.

The grab and go bags will consist of two meals (breakfast and lunch), as long as we have the resources to provide for both meals.
Families should notify individuals at pick-up locations if their child has a food allergy, as grab and go lunches will be made to meet these medical restrictions.

Meals will be available at each child’s school of attendance. Families who have children attending more than one school will need to pick up meals at each location.

The Food Service will begin on Wednesday, March 18.
We ask that families follow these time guidelines (when possible) to avoid crowding and traffic issues:

    • Last Names - A to M - 11:00 am -12:00 pm
    • Last Names - N to Z - 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Families will be asked to pick up the grab and go meals at the school(s) their child(ren) attends.
Each school will set up a location for meal pick up.
Families are asked to present identification at pick up.
Families who do not have a way to pick up meals should call their child(rens) school(s) and ask to be put on a drop off list.
Please be patient as we work through the logistics of this very important service.  The process will likely evolve during the days and weeks ahead.
