Dear Tuscarora Families, Community and Niagara Wheatfield Staff,
Yesterday we experienced an evacuation prior to the start of our school day. We immediately followed our safety protocol and safely relocated everyone to the High School. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all our parents and families. We commend our students for exemplary behavior in a new environment. We thank our Superintendent, Mr. Dan Ljiljanich for his guidance and the staff at Niagara Wheatfield High School for welcoming us and accommodating everyone with breakfast, lunch and a comfortable setting. To the staff of Tuscarora School I want to express my sincere thanks for all that you did to put children first. The children had a full day of new experiences and learning with their teachers and staff members.
We are grateful that everyone in the community including those who responded are safe. Thank you to all the responders who assisted in the event. A special acknowledgement to our School Related Officer, Robert Rougeux, for his genuine concern, leadership and support of our school family.
I am extremely proud of our district’s focus and commitment to safety as we were prepared with a plan which resulted in a safe and successful outcome.
Today we resume our normal school day routine. Have a wonderful long weekend.
Elizabeth Corieri, Principal
